CLUJ are sweating over the fitness of their two strikers ahead of the trip to Celtic Park on Thursday after both were injured at the weekend.

Cluj prepared for their trip to Glasgow by beating Gaz Metan 3-0 on Sunday but it could’ve come at a price.

Billel Omrani and Lacina Traore will find out in the next day or two if they will be ruled out of the Group E tie.

Omrani was the man who put Celtic to the sword at Parkhead back in August and is one of Cluj’s major threats. The Romanian club will be desperate to get him and Traore on the flight to Glasgow.

Cluj No2, Alim Minteuan, confirmed the situation to SunSport. “We will know later this week after they have done tests, but it’s not looking good just now.”

He said: “I know Celtic will treat us far more seriously now than they did in the first two matches we played against them this season.

“We expect an even tougher game because Celtic will be out for revenge.

“Even if we do have a couple of injuries, we have shown before we can cope with it.

“We are going to Glasgow to try and win again. Why not?

“We’ve already proved we can beat them and we also defeated Lazio so there is absolutely nothing to be afraid of.”

The Cluj number 2 is absolutely spot on in what he’s saying — their club shouldn’t fear any side in the group after taking on Lazio and beating Celtic in the Champions League.

It’s up to Celtic to put a bit of fear back into the Romanian side and prove the result at Parkhead was a fluke.
