John Collins looks likely to become assistant to Ronny Deila this week after extensive talks between himself and the club.

The former Celt has been looking for an opportunity to get back into football after quitting as Livingston director of football last year.

He has also had spells at Hibernian and Belgian club Charleroi as manager – winning the League cup for the Edinburgh outfit while he was in charge.

It would be beneficial for Ronny Deila to have someone who knows the club well to help him settle in to his surroundings and make the transition to Scottish football, much like Wim Jansen had Murdo Macleod to call upon.

Collins will certainly be an asset to the club going forward.

There is also likely to be a shuffle in current background staff with John Kennedy being tipped to get a first team promotion.
