There’s been much debate about Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths after it emerged his four year deal was really a three year deal with an extension clause.

The Hoops frontman is now waiting to find out if Celtic will trigger the deal.

We asked our followers on social media if Leigh should stay on for next season, with around about 1000 votes cast, there was a clear winner.

Some who voted no, explained their decision. One fan wrote there’s no room for sentimentality in the rebuild. There was a couple of fans in favour with one claiming he’s the only proven goal scorer at the club.

It’s a strange one, we have been waiting for Griffiths to get back to his best for over two seasons and it’s just not happened.

If there wasn’t going to be wholesales changes I would imagine the striker would have left at the end of this season. But if we lost Leigh and Eddy is sold, we’ll be very low on strikers.

It’s just one of the major issues facing Celtic and any new manager.
