Kris Commons wonders what might have been after suffering a 2-0 defeat in Milan, but admits the bhoys only have themselves to blame.
“Milan had phases in the game but you need to take your chances and we were not as ruthless as we needed to be
“The scoreline flatters them but you have to make your own luck.”
Celtic were so close to an upset in a game where they dominated large parts of the play. They came close on several occasions to leading in the San Siro but at this level you have to take your chances when they come along or you will be made to pay. That’s exactly whats happened.
It was a cruel goal to lose but Kris was in no mood to put it down to another hard luck story.
“You got the feeling something like that was going to decide it but there have been times when we’ve had the rub of the green so you can’t just point to that.
“Looking at how we played, you would have to say we’ll look back at this as a chance missed.”
Celtic will have to be more ruthless in their remaining games if they are to secure European football beyond Christmas. There is plenty of positives last night to suggest this team are capable of playing at this level. They just need to be more deadly in the final 3rd.
