Ange Postecoglou appears to be edging closer to his Celtic appointment. Sky Sports are reporting Celtic and Yokohama Marinos have come to an agreement over compensation, clearing one of the hurdles needed for the Hoops to announce Neil Lennon’s successor.

All eyes are now on Yokohama this weekend with Ange and his current side are set to play in a Cup tie.

If a fee has been reached and terms agreed with the manager, the only thing Celtic and Ange will be waiting for is the green light from UEFA over the pro-licence exemption.

If Ange is all but gone from Yokohama, it would make sense for him NOT to take charge of the team on Sunday.

It will be come clear in the next 48 hours how quickly we’re likely to see the Australian make the move.

If the gaffer takes charge of the game, it will signal he’s staying put until UEFA say otherwise, but if they’re confident he’s coming then he should beginning to make plans away from Yokohama.

The game kicks off at 5am in UK time.
