Aberdeen have officially launched their appeal against Sam Cosgrove’s red card against Celtic at the weekend. The striker didn’t make much contact but he left the ground in a reckless manner at pace. In real time, the challenge looked outrageous and no matter how many times people want to slow it down the player was never in control of the challenge – he clearly lost the head and was sent off as a result.

Aberdeen want the suspension revoked, claiming the little contact with Ajer is grounds for appeal.

If the player leaves the ground with both feet he puts his opponent at major risk of an injury. The fine margins between walking away from a challenge like Cosgrove’s and not is the reason the appeal should not be successful.

However, we do realise we’re dealing with the SFA here and it’s more like a lottery than anything else when you go up against their appeals process.

  1. I’m sure the Mason in the black that sent off Allan Thompson Vs the old Co, set a president on this so called ‘never made contact with player’ Even though Natcho Novo saw him coming fast from the side studs showing. The ref sent Allan off. And the Sfa hammered him with a long ban.(or totting up, as the Sfa put it)
So sunshi7e your Fuc&ing getting one too.
But we’ll see how their appeal pans out.
