JOHN KENNEDY has given a major update on the progress of FOUR Celtic players as the club prepare for a hectic Christmas schedule.

The bhoys haven’t been lucky when it comes to injuries this term. It’s never felt like we’ve had a full squad to pick from, but that day got be creeping closer.

Christopher Jullien has been out for well over a month, Mikey Johnston has been injured since the beginning of the season, Kristoffer Ajer has been playing with a groin injury and Jeremie Frimpong was lucky to escape relatively unharmed after a horror tackle against Motherwell.

So how are they all getting on? John Kennedy told the Celtic View:

“Kris had an issue against Lille, a minor groin issue. He didn’t reinjure it against Motherwell but he felt as the game was going on it was getting a bit tighter in that area. We didn’t want to take any risks with that so hopefully, he’ll be fine this week.

“Jeremie’s issue was the contact more than anything else. It was a bad tackle but he’ll be okay.

“Mikey’s done a bit of training now. He’s obviously missed a lot of time on the pitch so we’re just building him back up.

“Chris Jullien had a difficult spell there with a back issue but he’s looking in a better place now and we’ll hopefully get him on the pitch at some point during this international break.”

Celtic play Hibernian a week on Saturday which will kick off the last stretch of games in 2020. There are league points to be won, pride to play for in Europe and the small matter of a quadruple treble when the Scottish Cup Final comes around, not to mention the League cup last 16 ties at the end of this month.

We need all our best players back and firing on all cylinders if we want to give ourselves the best chance to succeed.
