NEIL LENNON has confirmed the club has entered negotiations with Southampton about keeping both Fraser Forster and Moi Elyounoussi at the club next season.

The pair returned to Lennoxtown to train this month but as of yet there’s nothing in place to keep them in Glasgow beyond June.

Instead of dismissing either or both players coming back, the manager didn’t promise anything but admitted there would be talks to see if this can be the case.

“So they are two players we would dearly love to have for next season.” Lennon told RecordSport.

“But we just have to wait and see. They are not our players. We will see how negotiations go. It’s good to see them back and involved and it would give us continuity if we could get those two in.”

Both players played a big part in Celtic’s success last season — Fraser Forster especially.

If the club can secure both for the ten in a row season, it would be an outstanding piece of business.

Southampton have their own struggles but they will want to make sure they make the best deal possible from themselves.

It’s at least positive the question is being asked but whether Celtic can afford to make the moves is another thing. We wouldn’t be surprised if another loan deal for the pair was what the board are looking for.

  1. I think they’ll want to sign fraser andayne take moi back on loan for the simple fact last season was a bit hampered by injuries I mean there no doubt the boys a player but have the celtic hierarchy seen enough or itigjt be just to be sure we’re not spending all that money on an injury prone player you know I think that makes alot of sense but hey I’m no sittimg in the big chair or any chair for that matter but that’s my opinion
