CELTIC looked to have signed Arsenal Starlet Armstrong Okoflex after a fan caught a glimpse of the player holding up a Celtic shirt pitchside at Celtic Park.

The 16-year-old had a trial with the club last month and it looks like Brendan Rodgers has decided to sign the player

Armstrong is an attacker and was expected to sign a new youth deal with Arsenal until now.

Gunners youth blogger Jeorge Bird the player “possesses excellent close control and is a fine finisher”.

Armstrong has also played for the Irish under 16 side and is eligible for both Ireland and England.

It’s unlikely this is anything other than a signing for the future. He could make a first team breakthrough around the same time as Karamoko Dembele – now that’s exciting!

  1. What happened to only signing players to make the starting 11 stronger? I am sure this was the plan about 6 days ago? WE then spend a week chasing Mc Ginn who won’t get in the 1st team just now and another prospect. WE have dozens of players to loan out to gain experience but are still playing with the same defence as two years ago and that is if we pick our best players. Need a RB and two CBs and they ain’t coming.

  2. What is the problem in making a good offer for a player. M.Ginn is available and we want him, yes? We’ll buy him and stop the hissing about. We seem to have a tight lid on the biscuit tin….again!
