Celtic fans knew heading into this game that they would be without Leigh Griffiths or Edouard. Both Mikey Johnston and Ryan Christie were the names in contention for today’s game at Celtic Park.

Johnston has got the nod as the lone striker today while Christie is back in the squad and on today’s bench.

Fans also knew from earlier on today, that Celtic would be without the services of Kieran Tierney. The difference with the left back position is Emilio Izaguirre has proven to be an excellent stand-in. Brendan Rodgers also made it known that Boyata and Tierney will be available for selection for Celtic’s trip to Pittodrie on Boxing day.

Anthony Ralston played like a man possessed midweek at Paradise, he looked like a player determined to make sure the manager had him in his thoughts today. The wing-back has earned another chance to shine before Celtic head into a transfer window.

There has been a lot of talk about Tom Rogic this week and the fact the Celtic could be without their wizard for the big Glasgow derby to see off 2018. The Australian has cost Scott Brown his starting place today as he drops to the bench after playing his 500th game for the Celts midweek.

Scott Bain is the only other talking point. By the looks of the changes and lack of risk Rodgers has taken with some players returning from injury it looks like the Celtic boss has spared a thought for his last two remaining away games of the year.
