Brendan Rodgers needs a big response from his team at Easter Road this morning after they whimpered out of Champions League action midweek.
The 1-0 loss at Parkhead saw the Hoops achieve their goal of qualifying for European football after Christmas in the shape of the Europa League, but they were disappointing on the night.
“Our overriding emotion is that it wasn’t the most desirable result during the week in order to get to where we want to get to – which is the Europa League – but we got there. I’m really looking forward to going there,” he said. “On Tuesday night we played our fourth game in nine days and they were all very physically taxing games.”
Most of today’s team seemed to of picked itself. It would have been a surprise if Ntcham didn’t replace Armstrong after he came on and got a grip of the game against Anderlecht. The big call was always going to be who started up front. Yesterday we said how serious things were getting about Edouard and his transfer. That article might be backed up today as Dembele and Griffiths are left on the bench.
CELTIC (4-3-2-1) Gordon; Lustig, Simunovic, Boyata, Tierney; Brown, McGregor, Ntcham; Forrest, Sinclair; Edouard
Subs: De Vries, Ajer, Bitton, Dembele, Griffiths, Armstrong, Hayes
