Steven Gerrard surrendered the league title yesterday. He walked away from the idea that the Rangers could close the gap on the champions. This is, of course, all depending on how Celtic perform today at Rugby Park.
A win will see Brendan Rodgers relax into an eight-point cushion, a loss will provide a small glimmer of hope to the pack. Many Celtic fans feel a result today will secure an eighth consecutive league title. We reported earlier that Rodgers would go with his record signing Edouard up front today.
The biggest surprise is that Armstong Oko-Flex will make the bench. The youngster has been very impressive in reserve team action. He has been scoring some cracking goals which have obviously caught the eye of the manager. Celtic fans will be hoping an early cushion might see the youngster get some first-team action.
The three changes from Thursday night see Johnny Hayes, Ajer and Edouard all start the game. Most fans were expecting to see Timo Weah get the nod but he will have Burke to contend with now to even get off the bench. Vakoun Bayo is still waiting to make his debut and will be in with a good chance today if Celtic can get this game tied up early.
