Celtic face a tough opener in their Europa League group campaign against French side Rennes. Rennes have had an impressive start to their Ligue 1 campaign so far this season. The Bhoys are also enjoying a winning start to their defence of the SPFL crown.
Rennes defeated Paris Saint-Germain while Celtic beat their city rivals with ease at Ibrox only weeks ago. In a group with Lazio and Cluj any kind of points gained tonight will be massive for Neil Lennon. It was Cluj who knocked Celtic out of the Champions League play-offs so revenge will be on the minds of Celtic fans when that game comes around.
The Rennes manager, Julien Stephan compared Celtic to Lazio, as far as he is concerned the four teams are all at the same level.
