Celtic struggled on Wednesday night to break down a dogged St. Johnstone wall. Zander Clark was called on to make a string of saves and in the end, kept the scoreline respectable for the Perth men.
While Celtic have a lot of new signings to be introduced into first-team action, they also have their injury woes. In fact, this season has been the worse season for Brendan Rodgers with injuries, the treatment tables have been overworked.
Celtic’s home form this season has been impeccable but they have let themselves down on the road. We mentioned Ryan Christie’s unbelievable form against Saints earlier this morning, Rodgers will be hoping the young midfielder can produce another wonder strike like he did Wednesday night. Celtic have a pack on their tails. There are 3/4 teams all baying to be second best. Celtic will need a win today to not get dragged back into that pack and keep their 6 point cushion.
Scott Bain keeps his place after a string of clean sheets. An injury strewn backline is now made up of Lustig, Jozo, Ajer and Izzy with Toljan taking a seat on the bench. The midfield is unchanged and Oliver Burke lead the attack once again.
