It appears increasingly likely Celtic are eyeing up a Hibernian player with Nicky Hammond spotted at Easter Road on Wednesday night.

Reports claim that player is Martin Boyle. There has been online rumours since Hammond turned up at Dundee Utd vs Hibernian last week. Many thought it was to watch Utd’s Lawrence Shankland but according to SunSport, Celtic’s chief scout was again attendance at a Hibs game to watch Boyle.

The paper wrote: “Celtic’s head of football operations Nick Hammond watched from the Easter Road stands as the on-form winger played his part in both Hibs goals”

Hammond has been tasked with finding talent for Celtic but you’d have to imagine he’s been watching Boyle of Neil Lennon’s recommendation. The Celtic boss worked with Boyle at Hibernian and was one of his star performers during a great run.

Celtic played 3-5-2 against Kilmarnock on Wednesday but the ability to adapt to a front three with a winger either side is something Neil Lennon clearly wants to keep.

We wonder if Hibernian and Celtic can even do business considering the breakdown in the John McGinn transfer a couple of years back.

Hibs won 2-1 on the night, coming back from a goal down.
