Rekeem Harper has been a long time target of Neil Lennon, even before he became the permanent manager of Celtic. It’s well documented the player was a VIP guest of the club on Trophy day back in May.

Harper who was out of contract with West Brom was weighing up his next move. Since the player visited Celtic Park things went quiet until today when West Brom announced the player has signed a new three-year deal.

It looks like new boss Slaven Bilic has persuaded the 19-year-old to stay put. The youngster became just the second person born this century to make a Premier League appearance when he made his debut in the first game of the 2017/18 season.

As deadlines loom the transfer speculation heats up Lennon was this morning linked with making a move for another midfielder in the championship. Harper is one player the Celtic manager can mark off his list.
