He might not be very well known among the Celtic support but it’s a major blow to Celtic’s youth ranks as Josh Adam leaves the club to sign for Manchester City.

The move had been rumoured for a while but the player confirmed it via his social media Instagram page on Sunday.

Celtic are losing too young talent to some very rich clubs now. While we can’t compete with their money we surely should be in a position to offer them real advancement and meaningful progress.

Unfortunately, with no youth league set up or reserves competition – Celtic youngsters are only training and playing meaningless bounce games. It’s not how you make new stars and it’s not how you entice them to stay and hopefully move on to the first team.

Josh, 16, will now take his place in the City academy and behind life down south. Celtic really need to get their act together.
