In case you still held out some hope of RB Salzburg boss, Marco Rose taking over at Paradise you can read on for some bad news. Fellow German outfit, Borussia Mönchengladbach have just confirmed the 42-year-old will be taking over the reins at the end of the current Bundesliga season.
Rose was an early target for the vacant Celtic role but just how realistic his interest was is anyone’s guess. He seemed to take a shine to Celtic Park but budget wise he was probably going to go to a club with a slightly bigger biscuit tin.
Speaking this morning the Salzburg manager said: “My decision-making process was already a bit complete. First, you discuss this with the family than with the players and the staff. I’m glad this intense phase is now over.
‘The club has good support behind that who will continue to work and, whatever it throws up in the summer, there will be enough options there that whoever is making the decisions will be able to do so.’
‘Ewan Henderson has come into the equation, Michael Johnston has been around it and we have young boys in the team,’.
‘Kris Ajer is only 20, Kieran Tierney is still 21, Odsonne Edouard is 21. ‘There are young players there and there also young ones in behind that as well, but you obviously have to bring in quality as well at the same time.
‘There are a number of players out of contract and there will be some movement here and there, I’m sure.’
Celtic fans have to endure new news every single day of who the new bookies favourite is. Brendan Rodgers left Celtic in the lurch mid-season that caused all kinds of panic and worry from Celtic fans at the time. Luckily, Neil Lennon has come in and steadied the ship with the help of John Kennedy and Damian Duff.
