Ange Postecoglou has some major headaches tonight with Callum McGregor, Liel Abada and Kyogo Furuhashi all set to miss Celtic’s Europa League trip to face Real Betis.

Celtic captain Callum McGregor misses out on the Europa League opener in Spain after sustaining a knock, while attacker Liel Abada will be absent as he is observing the Jewish holy day of Yom Kippur.

With talismanic striker Kyogo Furuhashi also out, Hoops boss Ange Postecoglou knows his team face a stern test against a side who finished sixth in La Liga last term.

Right-back Anthony Ralston is available after missing last weekend’s win over Ross County as the Bhoys return to the city that hosted the 2003 UEFA Cup final. No Celtic fans are allowed to attend the game this evening but they memorably took a huge travelling support that earned the Celtic faithful all kinds of awards and recognition all those years ago.

With the teams just officially announced, this is the team that Ange Postecoglou will be hoping can get him some sort of result tonight and incidentally it mirrors exactly our predicted starting XI.

The subs bench is slim pickings and all our attacking minded players start the match. We will have to hopefully get a goal and the. See the game out.

  1. Nothing to lose, so let’s have a go. Squad a bit threadbare again let’s hope we get players back soon and get a run going. Surely our luck will change in terms of injuries this season.

  2. Bottle has completely crashed. Could take a real battering here. Ange needs to take a couple who are hiding off. Now 4 could end up 8! The defence is all over the place. Montgomery has filled his shorts and Ajeti is just lazy. This is a wake up call not good enough. Could be a marker for the season. Oh dear.
