Celtic line up against Preston this afternoon at Celtic Park in front of 2000 lucky fans who were successful in the ballot.

The bhoys are getting their final run out before the competitive game starts. After today’s game, the focus will be on the Champions League qualifier on Tuesday.

The new Celtic boss takes his bow at Celtic Park on a sun kissed day in Glasgow.

Here’s the team who will go up against the English side.

It’s clear Ajeti is being readied to be the number one striker for now. Edouard has not seen as much game time as the Swiss striker in pre-season as he seeks a Celtic exit.

Barkas comes straight back in after injuring himself during the week. The goalkeeper was pulled with five minutes to go against Bristol City because of a hand injury picked up in the warm up.

Liam Shaw and Osaze Urhoghide also makes their Parkhead bows this afternoon.

New bhoy Liel Abada could see some action after completing his move to Celtic earlier in the week – the winger named on the bench.

A very notable absentee is Karamoko Dembele who got injured on Wednesday night. We’re waiting on an update on his condition. Ajer is not in the squad with the player set for his Celtic exit.

Let’s hope the bhoys get through the game with no injury concerns.

  1. 70 minutes in and Celtic have done absolutely nothing. I don’t recall a shot at goal. So boring. I know it is only a friendly and the penalty was dodgy but Celtic are not ready . Need another month. And by that time it will be too late.
Does any one Know if Connell is still at Celtic or did he join Queens Park on a permanent deal. If he is still at Celtic why is he not getting a chance?
