There was a rumour Callum McGregor would be named in the Scotland squad for international week at the start of October and it’s come to fruition.

The Celtic Captain has been out injured for a couple of weeks and could make his Celtic return just before the international break – although that’s not guaranteed.

However, Scotland boss, Steve Clarke has called the midfielder up and will likely play Callum in a bid to make the World Cup.

Celtic fans have seen their star striker head out on international duty and get injured. Many of them will not fancy seeing Callum miss important games for Celtic but then play during the international break and putting his fitness at risk.

Celtic really need a fit Callum McGregor back in the team. We may have to hold our breath during the Scotland in the hope Callum comes through the games unscathed.

There would have been a chat between Celtic, Callum and Scotland about the player’s availability – you have to hope they know what they’re doing.

  1. I don’t like the idea that the choice made by Clarke is ONE Celt and he’s not played for several weeks. Is there no other midfielder in Scotland that can stand in to cover?
If the club and Clarke have made the decision and invited Callum to be in the team, Celtic should have refused, end of! They know our injury list, what a shower of chancers!
