Celtic are reportedly keen on Spurs defender Cameron Carter Vickers – the defender who can play at centre-back or right-back is now in the final year of his Spurs contract and is weighing up his options.

Cameron spent last season on loan to Bournemouth – making 26 appearances for the club who just missed out on promotion to the English Premier League.

The American knows he won’t get game time at Spurs and will more than likely head out of the London club before the transfer window closes.

RecordSport have reported Celtic have made contact with the Spurs over a move for the defender but there are other offers on the table.

The paper writes: ‘The defender is on his way out of Tottenham and Record Sport understands contact has been made between the Parkhead club and the Premier League giants.’

Celtic have been heavily linked with a move for Carl Starfelt [Fabrizio Romano] and have already signed Osaze Uroghide from Sheffield Wednesday.

It remains to be seen if Celtic are hedging their bets or they’re making sure they have sufficient cover with a number of signings.

The Bhoys have Charlton on Saturday, followed by Bristol City on Wednesday before heading back to Glasgow to up their preparations for the Champions League. Any new signings at this point will unlikely be up to speed in time for these games.
