Neil Lennon seems to have sparked a  reaction from Elfsborg after yesterdays draw pinned Celtic against the Swedish outfit who have Mo Bangura on loan.

The Celtic Boss insisted he would tell Bangura to sit out this tie as it is a conflict of interests for the striker. However there is no Uefa rule that says he can’t play and Celtic seem to have loaned him out without the stipulation he can’t play against his parent club. A school bhoy error on the clubs part.

Neil Lennon spoke to the media on Friday.

“I feel it would be difficult for Mohamed to play. If he looked at it in the cold light of day he would not play.”

This seems to have angered Elfsborg Chairman Bo Johansson who has since threatened to report Neil Lennon to Uefa although I’m not sure on what grounds this would be.

The ultimate decision will come down to Bangura himself and where his loyalty lies. If he sees no future at Celtic then you can be sure he will play.

Having not managed a single competitive goal for Celtic so far you would bet your house on him scoring against us if he were to play. Just like Fernando Morientes did to Real Madrid when loaned out to Monaco, his goals ensured the Spanish club got sent packing from the Champions League.

Lets hope Bangura does not try the same.
