This afternoon pictures were released of the Celtic squad, heading off to Wales for a pre-season camp that will also see the Hoops take on three English sides behind closed doors.

As well as seeing some familiar faces such as Callum McGregor, Ryan Christie and Kristoffer Ajer returning, it was probably a surprise to see Oliver Ntcham amongst those players.

The Frenchman’s career at Parkhead looked as though it was heading towards the end, after a disappointing spell out on loan at Marseille and Greek side AEK showing continued interest in the midfielder.

However, it looks like he will be spending the next two weeks with Ange Postecoglou and his squad for pre-season in Wales.

So, that begs the question as to whether we could see Ntcham redeem himself and impress the new Celtic boss during pre-season?

When it comes to Ange, I don’t think any player will have been written off at this stage, and this training camp will be the perfect opportunity to look at his squad as a whole at this stage.

Ntcham is going into the final year of his contract at Parkhead, so ideally, the club will be looking for the former Socceroos manager to decide if he is keeping the 25-year old or not.

If the answer is no, we will need to attempt to offload him elsewhere.

However, there is still that chance we could see him redeem himself in a Celtic shirt and force his way into Postecoglou’s plans for next season.

It will certainly be interesting to see the sort of involvement Ntcham gets in the up-and-coming fixtures.
