There will be no new deal for Craig Gordon at Celtic as the goalkeeper confirms on his social media he has left the club for good after five trophy-laden years at the club.
The player came back from a horrendous injury to become a top star again. A bargain free agent signing for Celtic, the Scottish international would put in some phenomenal performances and has been a big part of the nine in a row run.
Over the past 18 months, Craig’s contributions to the team had started to diminish and with his contract up in the summer, Celtic were not offering the player first team football any longer.
Craig wants to play as many games as possible before his career comes to an end, which is commendable.
The former Celtic goalkeeper posted a heartfelt goodbye and thanked the club for everything.
We hope Craig gets first team football wherever he ends up next. He has been touted for a return to Tynecastle which means he very well could be dropping down to the championship next term.
