Former Celtic invincible goalkeeper, Craig Gordon has told Celtic fans to give Vasilis Barkas time to settle.
The goalkeeper has come in fir a hard time since he came to the club without doing much wrong.
Being compared to Fraser Forster and given what’s at stake this season, it was going to be hard for anyone to come in and reach their full potential.
Craig Gordon reiterated that sentiment talking to SunSport, the Hearts goalkeeper believes we’ve yet to see the best of Barkas and knows exactly how he’ll be feeling:
He said: “It was always going to be difficult for anyone to go into the team in a season of this magnitude, let alone a keeper coming to a new country.
“He needs to settle in and get used to his new surroundings, team-mates and coaching methods. It’s tough.
“I’m sure he’ll come good with the attributes that he has and the places that he’s played. He’s got a number of international caps, so he’s got experience.”
Barkas was signed when Forster decided to knock back a fresh loan deal to stay at the club.
The goalkeeper has a top season last term but didn’t fancy coming for the monumental season.
Barkas hasn’t done much wrong; some appear to be hyper critical of him and using the Greek international as a scapegoat for Celtic’s problems.
Hopefully he will come up big in the next run of games and silence his critics.
Not got a problem with our new keeper if you are getting free headers and shots from 6 yards then no keeper will keep them all out, i have a problem the way our team is set up no cover for the keeper and and how they all look slow and unfit or is just they are better than we are or are they so scary we hide, but we need other players to take over from S Brown he gives ball away and looks very slow and the scary thing is our holding midfielder does not know what the hell is going on round about him they know how to play him now wind him up?…..if the manager can not see this and sort it then with all the millions paid out on players then he goes…
Jackie spot on but do you know that most of goals scored against us is fae set pieces not great what does that tell u about oor defence turnbull needs to get more of a chance ntcham too slow weak looks like he on a sunday stroll wee dembele should be in team tae.elaynouissi looks like a million player at times too many players no fight passion etc to be honest gers wont lose many points so really in hindsight our game in hand doesnt matter even if we get it doon tae 1 point but am.afraid gers will beat livi this sunday .
Barkas also is pish get bain back in tae for 5 million he a waste of money laxalt rubbish tae .
