Craig Gordon didn’t have his best night in a Celtic jersey. The goalkeeper sold two of the three Inter Milan goals, the third one being particularly hard to watch.
Craig knew he had made a mess of things and was absolutely gutted but he has been fantastic all season for the team. What’s even better was the reaction from Celtic fans after the third goal. Instead of giving the bhoy stick for letting Inter back in-front the chants of “There’s only one Craig Gordon” echoed throughout Celtic Park. A message from the Celtic fans that we were still right behind the goalkeeper and thankful for all he’s done so far this season.
Craig Gordon spoke after the game about their support.
“The third one is a mistake. I misjudged the through ball, I couldn’t keep a hold of it and presented it to the striker’s feet.” said the Celtic Goalie.
“The fans didn’t chant my name for the reasons I wanted them to. But it was a great reaction from them. I need to thank them for that”
After a battling second half from Celtic they finally got a well deserved equaliser from John Guidetti but the night wasn’t over yet. With the last kick of the ball Inter had a free kick in an ominous area. When it was struck it looked like it was heading to the back of the net when Craig Gordon came to the rescue with a magnificent save. Redeeming himself on the night.
