Celtic loan player Daniel Arzani was tonight taking in the Champions League thriller between his parent club, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur as both English teams traded blows in a pulsating Euro quarter-final.

It ended 4-4 on aggregate in what will go down as an absolute classic with City going out on away goals.

Arzani is back at the Etihad as he steps up his return from injury by visiting club doctors at Manchester City as he hits the road to recovery hard.

The midfielder has another year left on his loan deal at Celtic and will be fit come the summer to challenge for a place in the squad.

His injury came just 14 minutes into his Celtic debut when the player landed awkwardly, tearing his ACL. Daniel has split his time between Glasgow and Barcelona since sustaining the injury with the early parts of his recovery from surgery coming in Spain.

Celtic don’t have an option to buy Arzani after the loan deal, but it’s not entirely out the question if he impresses next season. Manchester City have been in the business of flipping players in recent times and may not even see the Australian as part of their plans.
