CELTIC fans should have a clearer picture of where the club stands with regards to Dedryk Boyata after it was revealed his agent was flying back in for talks.

Negotiations with the defender’s agent and Celtic broke down quite quickly when the club refused to entertain an offer from Fulham the day before the English transfer window shut.

Since then, Boyata has been feigning injury according to the Celtic manager and let his teammates down by not taking part in Celtic’s tie against Athens on Tuesday.

It’s highly unlikely that there is a way back for the 27-year-old unless Rodgers insists on him seeing out his contract.

Peter Lawwell will head up the negotiations and settle the Belgian’s future – a move looks likely to be on the cards before the end of this transfer window
