The revelation this weekend that Scotland is moving towards full calcify stadiums again after august 9 has been universally welcomed by football fans.

The date is written down in pencil at the moment because things can change. However, if they don’t, and we see a return to a big bit of normality come August – what will Celtic’s first game in front of a crowd be?

The first game after the August date has not been set in stone yet. There’s a decent chance Celtic could have a European qualifier that week on the Tuesday/Wednesday or Thursday, depending on what competition we’re in.

If it’s not Europe then again we still need to wait to find out what the fixture will be that weekend. The League cup is pencilled in as the first domestic games after Aug 9 – and that draw is yet to be made.

Celtic could be home or away. There’s a chance Celtic have a full house for a game against a lower league opposition just because fans are bursting to get back into the stadium.
