CELTIC will find out today the reasoning behind handing their defender Jozo Simunovic an extra ban after being sent off against Alashkert.

The 23-year-old seen red in the first round qualifier in Glasgow and missed out on the Rosenborg first leg as a result. Last week the UEFA disciplinary committee decided to extend the ban to 2 game – leaving the player out of the second leg against Rosenborg.

Celtic are said to be very unhappy with the decision and have requested the full details of the reasoning behind the move by UEFA.

This will reach Celtic Park today where the club will look over what has been said and react accordingly.

It’s entirely possible Celtic will slap in an appeal for their defender if they think the extra ban has been unjust, leaving the Bosnian open to playing the second leg in Norway.

However, if they fail with an appeal and Celtic do get through to the next round, Jozo would be unavailable for the first round of that tie also.
