According to reports today, the man at the centre of the bogus subtitles or the man being thrown under the bus for the ill-fated Alfredo Morelos interview is the player’s representative.
According to RecordSport, Michael Gorman translated the interview for Sky Sports who were their to do a puff piece on the Ibrox striker.
The translation wrongly claimed Alfredo had accused Celtic fans of racism when he didn’t say anything near that. Once Sky Sports published the interview, there was a few Spanish speaking Celtic fans who had listened to the player’s words and transcribed it for social media.
The Daily Record swooped in after seeing it on social media and pretended to be the defender of all which is fair and true in journalism. The broadcaster said they contacted Sky Sports about the incident and have been patting themselves on the back for the last few days.
Now they’re claiming they know the person who was responsible for the translation. I wonder who told them? The same source who prompted the headline ‘Super Car Sabotage’ when someone was caught next to Alfredo’s car.
Sky apologised for the misleading subtitles.
