In talking about Daizen Maeda the past few weeks and his ridiculous engine we have had a lot of messages on our comments board and social media about Celtic needing to sign the Japanese star up permanently this summer.
It appears some missed the finer points of Daizen’s loan deal to Celtic when he signed in January – understandable considering three players came in at once.
Celtic signed Reo Hatate and Yosuke Ideguchi on a permanent basis in the winter window and Daizen was the exception who came in on loan.
However, it was made clear by Celtic his loan deal had an OBLIGATION to buy the striker/winger at the end of the season. Simply put, Daizen is already a Celtic player and the formalities will be sorted out in the summer. Ange knows the Japanese frontman isn’t going anywhere. So people need not worry about Celtic opting not to sign him etc.
Maeda has been brilliant since coming to the club, his incredible engine and defending from the front have helped Celtic reach another level. Think about what he” be able to do after he has a proper rest in pre-season.
