Daizen Maeda didn’t take long to open his Celtic goal scoring account. The Japanese striker put the bhoys ahead early on against Hibernian, scoring Celtic’s first goal of 2022 and setting us off for the three points.

The cameras got a great shot of Daizen celebrating after the goal – Celtic’s official accounts posted the after the game.

When the Japanese striker thanked the fans for their support on the night – he explained his celebration was from a Japanese anime cartoon.

This was further backed up by a Marino’s account who posted what character Maeda was imitating.

We’ll be glad to see more of this celebration in the weeks to come. If Maeda can get among the goals on a regular basis, the wee man could help Kyogo’s quest for fitness. We’ve rushed Kyogo back twice now this season and it’s not turned out well for us. We had a depleted squad at the time, now we have some depth, Maeda could be the key to helping Celtic progress.

If we have both Daizen and Kyogo fit, the two of them could run the show.
