DAIZEN MAEDA has been named on the bench for Japan this morning as they take on Saudi Arabia.

The new Celtic signing made a substitute appearance against China and will likely either stay on the bench tonight or get a small role towards the end.

If that’s the case, many Celtic fans are clamouring for a sharp exit from international duty for Daizen – getting him on a plane this afternoon and back in time for the Glasgow Derby.

Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou didn’t rule out bringing Daizen back quickly, but many who have made the jaunt from Japan to Scotland do tell of serious jet lag that can last for days.

In all honesty, as long as the striker comes out unscathed from any appearance against Saudi Arabia, the man from Japan will most definitely be back in the starting XI come the weekend when Celtic travel to Motherwell.

Hopefully the bhoys who are already here can do the business in the Glasgow Derby.
