Celtic striker Daizen Maeda has quickly become a fan’s favourite around Parkhead since his arrival in the January transfer window.

The former Yokohama F Marinos frontman joined on an initial loan deal, with the obligation to buy this coming summer, and arrived with a lot of fanfare given his previous work with Hoops boss Ange Postecoglou back in his home country.

In recent weeks, he has proved exactly why he held a reputation on his arrival in Glasgow, leaving fans extremely impressed with his goal-scoring ability and hard work out on the left-hand side.

This afternoon, supporters were given the opportunity to ask the 24-year old some questions in a Q&A session with the Japanese internationalist on social media.

Maeda opened up on his favourite experience as a Celtic player so far, stating that the victory at Ibrox was a highlight after a brilliant display from the attacker on that afternoon.

If this season ends up with the success we are hoping for, a number of Celtic fans are likely to suggest one of the Glassgow Derby victories as a potential highlight of the season, with the pressure that was mounted on the fixture at that time.

Maeda, in particular, was pointed out as a key player that day, who was absolutely everywhere until the final whistle, pressing the opposition defence.

To think that Maeda is already off the back of a full season with his former club, it is an exciting prospect for those at Celtic to consider what he will bring to the side after a break in the summer and a full pre-season under his belt.
