Daizen Maeda has returned to Japan and will be a guest of his former club Yokohama Marinos at their game today against Kyoto Sanga.

The Japanese forward left the club in January to join up with his former Marinos boss Ange Postecoglou at Celtic. Daizen has been brilliant since coming into Celtic and has a never ending reserve of energy that sees the attacker defend from the front.

The player will be presented to the crowd before the game so fans can give him a belated send off. Daizen returns to Yokohama as a champion of Scotland. He was much loved at his former club and fans will be delighted to see him return for a bow.

The game kicks off at 11am UK time on Wednesday morning. Daizen will be hoping to see a victory while back at his old club.

The player’s permanent registration at Celtic has just been completed after spending the first five months of his Hoops career as a loan player.

The Japanese international has been selected by his country this summer to compete in the Kirin Cup. After that, Maeda will get his first break in quite some time. Daizen with a full pre-season in him could be scary!
