Celtic winger Daizen Maeda took to social media earlier today to pay tribute to Celtic supporters after he scored a brace against Dundee at Celtic Park last night.
Maeda, who was awarded Man of the Match after the game, was at the top of his game against Tony Docherty’s side with his second strike, a goal of the season contender.
Speaking after the game, Maeda was his usual level-headed self. However, he made sure to send a positive message to Celtic supporters on social media ahead of Saturday’s Scottish Cup tie against Raith Rovers at Celtic Park.
Thank you for your support!!💚🤍

Maeda, who often received criticism for weaknesses in his game, has transformed from a player who contributes well to now arguably a contender for Celtic’s best player this season alongside Nicolas Kuhn.
Given the fact that Maeda was shifted to right wing ahead of the game to allow Jota to play off the left, if anything, the position change made Maeda even more effective.

His relationship with the Celtic support is arguably one of the strongest, and working under Brendan Rodgers, the Japanese international has taken his game up a gear, which is some achievement considering it was Ange Postecoglou who signed Maeda for Celtic.
Much has been made of Kyogo’s departure to Rennes; however, Maeda looks set to step up in his absence and take the opportunity to become Celtic’s talisman.
