Celtic will discover their fate of whether the four Japanese players within Ange Postecoglou’s squad will be available for next months Glasgow Derby on the 22nd of January.

It has been known for several weeks now that a number of players in Ange Postecoglou’s side could be set to miss out on up-and-coming fixtures towards the end of this month due to international duty in Asian World Cup qualifying.

Japanese-based journalist Dan Orlowitz has reported that Celtic will finally know if Kyogo Furuhashi, Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate and Yosuke Ideguchi will be available for selection a week on Saturday.

It would come as a blow to have several players missing from action in what could be a crucial game in our season as the Hoops prepare for a title charge in the second half of the campaign.

At this stage, it seems highly likely that we will definitely be missing Tom Rogic who is away with Australia during the exact dates, with Kyogo also expecting to feature for his nation.

Whether the other three are selected remains to be seen. However, we now finally have a date that we will know if the players mentioned above will be missing for the Glasgow Derby at the beginning of next month.
