The dates for the 2024 Asian Cup have been announced and they could have a major impact on Celtic.
Qatar will host the tournament next year and the dates of the competition have now been confirmed as being from 12 January to 10 February 2024 [@QFA_EN].
Scottish football is set to reintroduce the traditional winter break next year from January 3-19 which was put forward this season due to the World Cup.
It means that the Hoops could be without the likes of Kyogo, Furuhashi, Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate, Oh Hyeon-gyu and Aaron Mooy amongst others for around three weeks.

Many will hope that Japan boss Hajime Moriyasu continues to overlook some of the Hoops talent but if he doesn’t, could potentially select up to five Celtic players as Tomoki Iwata and Yuki Kobayashi would also be available for selection.
Oh has been on the fringes of the South Korean squad while Australia will also compete in the tournament meaning Mooy may not be available for selection.
The Hoops would be entitled to ask for postponements under SPFL rule G7. That states that if three or more players are unavailable that would have otherwise participated a request can be made to the SPFL.
However, it is unknown whether Postecoglou would want to do that depending on how the season is unfolding.
This is a story to keep an eye on as the majority of the players who could head off to the tournament have become vital first team players.
