Celtic will have David Turnbull back in the squad before Kyogo. That’s the verdict from Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou who has refused to give a timeframe on either.

Ange was reacting to a question about both Kyogo and David being inserted into the Conference League squad and if they’d be available.

The Hoops boss was reluctant to put a date on it but did concede Turnbull was on course to available before the Japanese striker.

Turnbull pulled up and had to be subbed off during Celtic’s League Cup win back in December. The former Motherwell man has been making steady progress.

Kyogo has been nursing injuries since the beginning of December and Ange tried to manage the player. Celtic’s options were so limited we risked the Japanese striker against St Johnstone just before the winter break and he pulled up within then minutes. It’s that hamstring injury that’s still keeping Kyogo out of the squad.

Maeda and Giakoumakis have been doing well in the Celtic star’s absence. There will be no need to rush Kyogo back before he’s ready.
