CELTIC broke cover this afternoon and did something which was quite out of the ordinary when it comes to how the club deal with transfer speculation.

The Scottish champions had a bid for David Turnbull accepted during the week and Motherwell also used social media to declare it to their fans. The Steelmen were very quick to let everyone know the bid from Celtic had been accepted before terms had been discussed. Not something Celtic would naturally like to see happen as they go about their business.

Celtic and David Turnbull’s agents have been thrashing out a deal for the 19-year-old with many believing the player would be announced by Friday evening as a Celtic player. Instead, the club initiated a social media only message to fans saying they had offered Turnbull and his agents (ProLegalGroup) a fantastic offer and they have chosen to reject that offer. Celtic also made it very clear it was a take it or leave it offer and they wouldn’t be discussing terms further.

Twitter has been abuzz since the Celtic announcement with fans from both Motherwell and Celtic weighing in on how the thing has been handled. However, one sarcastic tweet was read and LIKED by Turnbull’s agency ProLegalGroup that backed their position.

The company showing their own unprofessional nature by doing so.

It’s all got a bit tinpot from both sides.

  1. Stand firm if the offer was good then it’s up to him accept don’t accept who really cares he is all potential . Put a deadline if he doesn’t meet iit move on. Don’t be held to ransom for potential
