Former Celtic player and Scottish Football pundit Davie Provan has claimed that Celtic will be going to Ibrox at the beginning of next month, playing to win the Scottish Premiership title.

After a difficult start to the season, Ange Postecoglou’s side has shot themselves to the top of the Scottish Premiership due to a brilliant run of form and are now in a very healthy position heading into the final eight games of the season, which includes two Glasgow derby fixtures.

Those two derby games could be crucial in deciding who takes home the title at the end of the season, and speaking on Go Radio, Provan believes that Celtic could have the chance to go to Ibrox, effectively playing for the title.

“I think Celtic are playing for the title on April 3rd.

“I think that’s how big it is for both teams, obviously.

“But I think Celtic will go to Ibrox knowing if they win that day, they have more or less won the title.”

Although that may be Provan’s view on the situation, you would imagine both Celtic fans and Ange Postecoglou will be more cautious in their assessment of the potential run-in for the Premiership trophy.

A win at Ibrox would absolutely go a long way to helping us reach that, but in no way would that guarantee the title, given how unpredictable Scottish Football can be.

Focus for now, though, must remain on the final fixture before the international break, with an in-form Ross County side set to travel to Glasgow in the hope of boosting their European chances.
