Celtic have told Ewan Henderson he’s surplus to requirements at the club and since then the midfielder has been looking at his options.

The 21-year-old came on and scored the winning goal against Real Betis in the Europa League back in December. In general, the academy bhoy has found game time hard to come by.

Football Scotland report Henderson is set to clinch a three and a half year deal with Easter Road in the coming days. The report claims Ewan visited the Easter Road club’s training ground on Monday and is putting the finishing touches on a deal to play under Shaun Maloney.

Ewan has shown potential but he’s not had the game time to progress. If Shaun Maloney can get his hands on the midfielder, it could be the making of him.

Ewan would be following a similar path to his brother Liam who spent time at Hibernian and was part of the famous side that won the Scottish Cup against The Rangers.

We can only wish Ewan the best if this deal does become official.

  1. Good move for all will do a great job for hibs malony great coach who might be in running for next Celtic_fc_1888
Manager Evans might come back to good luck

  2. I would rather have kept E.Henderson and sold M.johnstone the boy is to greedy and thinks he’s better than everyone else Henderson is a great player who never got a chance at paradise plus i see we are putting liam scales out on loan who has done alright when he has come on for celtic but as we all know celtic are good at bring young players in and then wasting them but always keep the shite johnstone ajeti barkas and the rest goes on eh.

    • Liam shows going out think scales is right for the club right now he’s got the playing tine to show for that with shamrock rovers bt aye will be our loss in the end when he’s flowing for hibs

    • Couldn’t agree more mate. The lack of chances our youth get and also the ones we pay to bring in, are ridiculous. If you were a young boy and Celtic were an option, you would only sign because we have Celtic in our blood and it’s the ultimate dream to run out in front of a full Celtic Park, otherwise…

  3. Personally wish we had gave him more time especially after the betis game bt another youngster who’s been great when he’s played wish him all the best bt feel conflicted about him leaving think he should of been given more chances to show his real ability
