According to reports in The Scotsman today, Celtic are just now waiting on international clearance to announce Vakoun Issouf Bayo on a permanent deal.

The Ivory Coast striker has been in talks with Celtic for around a week with the player seemingly keen to make the move to Celtic Park. Last week, Dunajska Streda told the media Celtic had offered terms to sign their striker but had rebuffed their first offer.

The two clubs have been in dialogue since then and have reportedly come to an agreement – so much so the player himself started following the club on social media at the weekend. If anyone doesn’t think that means something, just look at how the Timothy Weah deal unfolded.

Being from the Ivory Coast, Bayo needs a new work permit to sign for Celtic. Once he gets it the nod, Celtic will announce their new man.

Bayo would be Celtic’s third signing of this January window but their first permanent deal.

Rodgers said he wanted two strikers in before the end of January and it looks like he has both in just over a week of the window being open.
