DEDRYK BOYATA has made somewhat of a U-turn after he revealed he’s open to staying at the club beyond his contract which is coming into its final season.
The Belgian spoke back in February about wanting to compete in the English Premier League and will look for the right opportunity if his time at Celtic comes to an end.
Speaking yesterday, the defender seems to have changed his tune and seems receptive to a new deal at the club.
“I am in talks with the club and I have said it before that I am happy here.
“Right now, nothing is done and it’s not like I can actually say what is going to be done. But I am in talks and we are trying to find some sort of arrangement.
“I have been talking a lot with the manager and trying to find a solution. I don’t want to say yes and then nothing happens later but everything is just so positive.”
Boyata has had his critics this season but it has to be said he was outstanding in Celtic’s title win versus The Rangers a few weeks back and has looked generally stable next to youngster Ajer.
