After Celtic’s worst start to a league campaign in 23 years, Postecoglou and his men will look to right some wrongs on Thursday.

Raith Rovers travel to paradise to take on the Bhoys in the League Cup, now known as the Premier Sports Cup.

Heading into the fixture, the championship side is on better form, winning four out of their last five games, and losing one. When compared to Celtic’s it is the opposite, Celtic have won one match and lost four out of the last five. Although, this shouldn’t matter too much.

Celtic will no doubt rest a few players as well -as giving some players game time who are just back from time away from the squad.

I fully expect Joe Hart to remain between the sticks, there is no reason to change the in-form keeper.

The back four will look different from what Postecoglou fielded on Sunday, with Ralston coming back into the team, along with Adam Montgomery. I expect Liam Scales to make his Celtic debut in the left side of the central pairing, with Carter-Vickers starting on the right.

The midfield is the hardest to predict, with very few options Ange will be limited to what he can change. I expect Ange to use the same midfield three that he fielded in Seville. Rogic will keep his place along with David Turnbull.  I also expect the manager to turn his attention to Soro after a poor show from McCarthy.

The front three will be simple to pick, James Forrest is ruled out injured so the natural alternative is Abada, and I believe he will start on the right-hand side with Mikey Johnston on the opposite wing. Ajeti will play through the middle due to Postecoglou admitting Giakoumakis is not yet ready to start. Although, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Greek was to feature in the second half.

Postecoglou will give a rest to key players with a busy period looming ahead, before the commencement of international duty in just under two weeks.
