The Belgian FA has confirmed today that Celtic’s Dedryck Boyata will take no further part in this international week after the player has left the camp for ‘personal reasons’.

Boyata played in Belgium’s 3-1 win over Russia in the Euro qualifiers and was expected to play his part this weekend before heading back to Celtic ahead of their Glasgow Derby tie next Sunday.

The defender missed Celtic’s Win against Dundee in the bhoys last SPFL match before the break after picking up a knock.

It’s unknown at this point if the reason for the player’s sudden departure from International duty will have any bearing on his starting place against Steven Gerrard’s men next week.

We hope whatever the reasons are that Dedryck has the time and space to sort them out.

The good news for the club is, Benkovic and Ajer are both fit to play on the Glasgow Derby.
