KIERAN TIERNEY has been named on a list of 100 best players in the world under the age of 23 by the IBWM website.

The Celtic defender has had another fine year for his bhoyhood heroes and has been credited in the magazine as being a very rare breed.

Kieran’s stats read very well for 2018: 50 Appearances, 47 starts, 10 assists and 20 clean sheets.

It’s rightful the player takes his place on the list as he continues to grow in the game.

Tierney has been linked with a move away from Celtic on several occasions; the most intense speculation came in the summer when Everton were rumoured to be sniffing around the player.

In the end, all the talk came to nothing, and the defender has gone about helping Celtic achieve a potential treble, treble.

While IBWM praises the Celtic player and gives him a terrific rundown, they also send their ‘condolences’ to Celtic fans for the seemingly inevitable sale of their star player.

They wrote this in their ‘What Next’ section.

We know that Tierney is blessed with a passion for the game which will ensure a lengthy and glowing career, the question is: how far can he go? A place among the Celtic legends awaits if he wants it, but his exceptional ability hints at a much bigger future, pitting his wits against Europe’s elite. Deepest condolences to the Bhoys.

Celtic Park has a strong history of providing the Premier League with high-quality talent. Virgil van Dijk naturally stands out as the most recent example to vindicate that notion, and Tierney may well find himself on a similar path when the time is right.

There might be a time when Kieran moves on but there is a certain amount of pride being taken by the star while he continues to perform for a team that’s breaking records and on their way to a ten in a row scenario.
