GREG TAYLOR wasn’t in the matchday squad for Celtic as they took on Hamilton at the weekend. The player did travel with the team but didn’t make the final cut with Bonlingoli preferred at left-back.

Taylor came in on deadline day from Kilmarnock in a deal which didn’t get greenlighted until 5pm with the window coming to a close. After coming back from international duty the player would have been desperate to get his Celtic career underway but Neil Lennon is making him wait.

With Celtic in France this week on Europa League business, Taylor is unlikely to be thrown in against Rennes for his debut. However, the manager is likely to make full use of his squad in the coming months with a hectic schedule in the lead up to Christmas. Considering Celtic will not get back to Glasgow to the wee hours of Friday morning and if Boli does start in Rennes, there’s a massive chance Greg Taylor will start on Sunday at Celtic Park and it’s only against his former club.

Kilmarnock come to town on Sunday and Greg could be put up against his old teammates in what would be a crazy debut for the defender. The left-back earned a move to Celtic off the back of playing over 100 times for the Rugby Park side and helping them to some fantastic results and league positions under Steve Clarke.

It will be strange for Greg if he does line up against his old pals but he will be completely focused on the task at hand if he’s called upon.

Celtic have a 100% record in the SPFL after five games and will be looking to continue that run against Killie.
